Timee Signs Comprehensive Alliance Agreement with Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima

Comprehensive Alliance Agreement Between Timee and Hatsukaichi City

Timee Inc., headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has recently entered into a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima, led by Mayor Taro Matsumoto. This marks the first collaboration between Timee and a local government in Hiroshima Prefecture, signifying a substantial step in addressing local workforce challenges.

Hatsukaichi City is located between the Seto Inland Sea and the Chugoku Mountains, known for its rich blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Its coastal area features the historic Itsukushima Shrine, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting numerous tourists and showcasing the region's rich marine life and agricultural products, including high-quality oysters and strawberries.

However, like many areas in Japan, Hatsukaichi faces demographic challenges, including an aging population with a significant number of individuals from the baby boomer generation entering their late 70s. This demographic shift is predicted to cause serious labor shortages in local industries, complicate business succession, and heighten the urgency of securing and nurturing the next generation of workers.

In light of these challenges, the new agreement with Timee aims to enhance workforce solutions for local businesses suffering from employee shortages and to promote diverse working styles through spot work opportunities. Timee has a mission to create infrastructures that expand life possibilities through work, thereby fostering economic revitalization in Hatsukaichi and addressing regional issues.

Key Initiatives of the Agreement

Under this partnership, Timee and Hatsukaichi City are committed to providing various forms of support to local businesses and potential employees. This includes:

  • - Conducting introductory workshops for local businesses in primary industries and tourism to facilitate the adoption of spot work.
  • - Promoting the use of spot work within the city through the creation of model case studies from businesses already utilizing this workforce solution.
  • - Encouraging diverse working styles among residents of Hatsukaichi to adapt to changing employment landscapes.

Timee’s Continued Collaboration with Local Governments

Timee has established cooperation agreements with 34 prefectures and 68 local governments across Japan, marking its ongoing commitment to enhancing regional resilience through innovative labor solutions. This agreement with Hatsukaichi City is yet another important milestone in Timee’s journey to connect local economies with flexible work opportunities, further solidifying its role as a leader in the gig economy.
