Moore Global's Thrive Index: An Insight into Mid-Market Optimism
Moore Global, a prominent network specializing in accounting, auditing, and consulting, has introduced its first-ever Thrive Index. This unique index offers valuable insights into the strategic concerns and approaches of ambitious business leaders from around the world. The survey sampled over 2,000 executives across 14 major economies, aiming to gauge their sentiment on crucial aspects of the business environment.
According to the Thrive Index, mid-market firms—considered the backbone of the global economy—are exhibiting a generally optimistic outlook for the future. Despite ongoing uncertainties related to tariffs and persistent geopolitical tensions, a remarkable 75% of the surveyed executives reported improved business performance in the previous year.
The Thrive Index score stands at +35.1. This rating, calculated by measuring the balance of positive versus negative responses, ranges from -100 (indicating unanimous negativity) to +100 (signifying universal positivity). Such a robust score reflects a positive sentiment among mid-market leaders, highlighting both resilience and strategic foresight.
The index's findings show that India has the highest score at +48.7, primarily due to strong reports of revenue growth, workforce expansion, and increased investments. Conversely, four out of the five lowest scores emerged from the European Union, pointing towards subdued growth prospects in those regions.
When analyzing various sectors, the information technology industry received the highest score of +44.2, showcasing a vibrant business environment. In contrast, the wholesale trade sector trailed behind with a score of +17.6. However, it is notable that wholesalers are projecting a more bullish sentiment for the upcoming year, particularly concerning revenue and employment expectations.
Anton Colella, CEO of Moore Global, shared insights on the findings, emphasizing, "Our results are fascinating and illustrate the agility of ambitious mid-market leaders. They are investing more in their staff and technology to gain a competitive advantage amid challenging economic conditions."
The Thrive Index not only sheds light on current business sentiments, but it also provides a roadmap for future strategies that can enhance resilience and growth. For those interested in exploring the comprehensive report, it is available for download
