Cormac Twomey Joins Cars Commerce as Chief Technology Officer

Cars.com Inc., operating as Cars Commerce Inc., recently made headlines by announcing the appointment of Cormac Twomey as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Twomey, who brings a wealth of experience in Software as a Service (SaaS) and marketplace technology, will take on the critical role of driving innovation and scaling the technological platform further.

Before joining Cars Commerce, Twomey held the CTO position at OpenTable, where he was instrumental in transforming the company’s operations. He successfully transitioned OpenTable from a basic lead-generation platform to a sophisticated SaaS-based solutions model. This evolution enabled the company to realize significant revenue growth and enhanced its ability to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMBs) in effectively competing against larger entities. Twomey facilitated the scaling of OpenTable’s platform, extending its reach to over 60,000 SMBs and aligning with Cars Commerce’s mission to empower local retail at scale.

Twomey has also served as the CTO at Envoy and held engineering leadership roles at well-regarded companies like eHarmony. His diverse background and accomplishments position him well for the tasks that lie ahead at Cars Commerce.
