NOKID Opens a Next-Generation IP Production Studio in Iida City, Nagano

NOKID Expands with IIDA STUDIO

NOKID, a creative powerhouse based in Minato, Tokyo, has recently unveiled its new next-generation IP production hub, NOKID IIDA STUDIO, located in the picturesque Tenryukyo area of Iida City, Nagano Prefecture. This initiative is designed to support creators such as animators, designers, and video editors seeking relocation or dual-base living.

NOKID's establishment in Tenryukyo is rooted in the belief that creators should intentionally choose environments that foster the creation of exceptional work, rather than merely depending on the concept of being able to work from anywhere. Too often, the chaos of urban life leads to a homogenization of inspiration, compromising the artistic sensitivities that are unique to each individual creator. To combat this, NOKID promotes a two-region living approach encouraged by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

The stunning landscapes of Iida City, rich in cultural history as a town renowned for puppetry, were chosen as the ideal setting for the new studio. This locale not only offers tranquility but also serves as a place of concentration and liberation—it has historically attracted intellectuals and artists in search of inspiration. NOKID aims for the studio to surpass conventional production roles, evolving into a strategic platform for maximizing the value of creators' works.

Support for Relocating Creators

As part of this project, NOKID is offering a comprehensive support package for artists relocating to Iida City:

1. Relocation Subsidy: Eligible creators moving from the Tokyo area (Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa), Osaka, or Aichi will receive a relocation support fund of up to 1.1 million yen. In addition to the subsidies from Iida City, NOKID provides an extra 100,000 yen to boost the support available (specific conditions apply).

2. Guaranteed Project Assignments: To alleviate economic fears after relocation, NOKID assures a minimum of 1 million yen in project assignments annually to ensure a steady income stream for new studio members.

3. Free Co-Working Space: A stunning office space with scenic views of Tenryukyo will be provided at no cost, enabling creatives to work in a panoramic environment conducive to innovation.

A Unique Campaign to Encourage Creative Exploration

In celebration of the studio's opening, NOKID has launched a campaign titled “Drawing My Japan in TENRYUKYO” aimed at supporting creators in their journey toward discovering new perspectives. The campaign offers a prize of a 30,000 yen travel voucher. Participants can enter by following NOKID's official social media and reposting the campaign announcement. Applications will be accepted from March 2, 2026, to March 20, 2026.

Seeking Skilled Professionals

As NOKID expands its project reach, it is actively searching for professionals in specific roles:
  • - Animators: Focusing on layout construction and quality management, preferably with experience in TV shows, feature films, and online animations.
  • - Designers: Responsible for product design, social media creative projects, branding, and visual production for IP collaborations.
  • - Motion Graphics Artists: Tasked with creating motion graphics and VFX for music videos, commercials, and web ads, using tools like After Effects and Blender.
