Canon Gallery Opens Submissions for Photo Exhibitions

Canon Marketing Japan Inc., under the leadership of President Masachika Adachi, is excited to announce the opening of submissions for its upcoming photo exhibitions. These exhibitions will take place at the prestigious Canon Gallery in Ginza and Osaka. The submission period kicks off on August 1, 2026, and successful exhibitions will be hosted sequentially from January to June 2027.

The Canon Gallery, managed by Canon MJ, is dedicated to supporting photographers in their creative journey. The gallery focuses on fostering photographic culture and is committed to hosting a variety of exhibitions throughout the year, encouraging participation from both professionals and amateurs alike. The upcoming call for submissions aims to discover new talent and showcase diverse works.

Submission Details

Eligibility

Both professional and amateur photographers are welcome to apply, provided they are residents of Japan or have a reliable contact within the country.

Application Period

- Submission Dates: August 1, 2026 (Saturday) to August 31, 2026 (Monday).
- All submissions must be postmarked by August 31, 2026.

Application Process

To apply, interested photographers must register for a Canon ID prior to submitting their work. Applicants should visit the Canon Gallery website for registration and submission details. It is imperative that all entries are sent to Canon Gallery in Ginza.

Exhibition Criteria

- Only previously unpublished works are eligible for submission.
- If the works are showcased as silver halide prints, they must be captured using Canon cameras. For digital prints, the output must be produced with Canon printers; the camera manufacturer does not need to be Canon.
- Entries should include a portfolio of 30 to 50 pieces, sized A4 or 6-cut, organized within an A4 book-style folder, and sent to Canon Gallery in Ginza.
- In the event your work is selected for exhibition, Canon will choose from the submitted portfolio.
- Entries generated by AI are not permitted.
- Results will be communicated by October 2026.
