The 4th RCEP Import Expo Opens in Linyi, Shandong, China
On June 27th, 2025, the 4th RCEP (Shandong) Import Expo officially opened its doors in Linyi, an eastern city in China’s Shandong province. This year’s event has brought together an impressive 348 companies, featuring a vast exhibition space of 35,000 square meters and 1,200 booths, drawing around 15,000 visitors on the very first day.
The expo highlighted the participation of exhibitors from 66 countries and regions, including notable entries from Malaysia, Cambodia, Japan, and South Korea, among others. A total of 247 international firms made their presence felt, with 179 coming from the member nations of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and 51 from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
This year's expo set itself apart by serving as a vital exchange platform for both domestic and international enterprises. It featured 17 national pavilions and 7 international pavilions representing sister cities. A noteworthy inclusion was the participation of 28 cross-border e-commerce companies, which included major players like Wildberries and Voghion, alongside 20 international chambers of commerce and trade associations, such as the China-Africa Business Council and the Korean SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME).
The exhibition area also made space for cutting-edge technology and multinational corporations. For the first time, dedicated exhibition zones spotlighted intelligent technologies, showcasing 18 leading tech companies such as Tesla and Unitree Robotics. Furthermore, 11 Fortune Global 500 companies, including CP Group and Amazon, spotlighted their innovations and cutting-edge solutions in their respective fields.
In addition to innovative displays, the expo featured significant events like the China International Import Expo (CIIE) and various promotional conferences that reinforced collaborations. During the expo, numerous cooperation agreements were signed, enhancing foreign trade services and making strides toward improving the supply chain in online platforms.
The expo collaborated with eight major trading markets, including hotel supply and international food markets, to arrange on-site purchases by prominent supermarket chains and international buying teams from across Shandong. This initiative effectively connected local manufacturers with distribution companies, promoting local products on broader market platforms.
Moreover, the expo ingeniously integrated online and offline experiences. By leading the way in a model that merges exhibitions with industry, logistics, and digitalization, they have taken massive steps to elevate the event to a comprehensive platform for resource integration. Such capabilities further enhance Linyi’s strengths in trade, logistics, and industrial development.
With the rise of global trade dynamics and the emphasis on collaborative economic growth, the 4th RCEP Import Expo is poised to play a crucial role in setting the tone for future international trade relations, not only for China but for all participating countries.
