Rintaro Nakano Signs Sponsorship with Pacific Club
In an exciting announcement,
Pacific Club Co., Ltd., headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, has entered into a sponsorship agreement with young golf talent
Rintaro Nakano. Currently a member of the Waseda University Golf Team, Nakano stands out as a promising figure in the golfing landscape of Japan, marking a significant move for both the player and the club as they look towards the future.
The vision of Pacific Club is to become a
“Top of the Top” golf club that embodies Japanese excellence to the world. As part of this mission, the club actively supports athletes aiming for international success. Additionally, their management policy emphasizes the
nurturing of junior talent. This includes organizing the
“PGA Junior Golf Championship Pacific Club Cup” annually, workings with the Japan Professional Golf Association and school golf federations to foster educational growth and social awareness through the sport.
Rintaro Nakano has an impressive record. While in high school, he clinched both the
National High School Golf Championship and the
Kanto Amateur Golf Championship, accomplishing a rare double crown. After entering Waseda University, Nakano continued to shine, winning the
Japan Amateur Golf Championship individually and leading his university team to victory in the
National University Golf Championship. Having conquered national titles across individual and team events, he is persistently following his dream of turning professional while showcasing his extraordinary skills on the green.
In 2022, Nakano represented Japan at the
Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, held at the Pacific Club Gotemba Course, where he narrowly missed victory. Reflecting on his near miss, he expressed determination to identify areas for growth and pushed himself towards elevated performance standards. Observing Nakano's career trajectory and future vision, the Pacific Club aligns with his aspirations and decided to move forward with the sponsorship agreement.
In a pivotal moment, Nakano also announced his transition to professional golfer status, with his first appearance scheduled at the
2025 Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Pacific Masters from
November 13 to 16. With Nakano stepping into the professional realm, expectations are high for a rookie who is anticipated to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
Nakano's Personal Words
Upon signing the sponsorship, Nakano shared his gratitude:
“I am truly delighted to have signed a sponsorship agreement with Pacific Club. The Gotemba Course is a place I consider the origin of my challenge and growth. The disappointment I experienced at last year's Asia-Pacific Amateur will serve as a motivation as I work hard to achieve a higher level and show a performance worthy of the ‘Top of the Top’ philosophy. I am thankful to everyone who supports me, and I will take each step forward with determination.”
