Envision Energy Expands Battery Storage Capacity in Scotland
Envision Energy, a prominent figure in the green technology sector, has made significant strides in renewable energy solutions by entering into two crucial supply agreements. These contracts are set to deliver advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) containerised battery energy storage systems (BESS) for critical energy projects located at Field's Holmston and Drum Farm in Scotland. Each installation is designated to provide a capacity of 50 MW / 100 MWh, ensuring a crucial supply of electricity to the grid. This initiative aims to support the ongoing transition to renewable energy in the UK, particularly in areas facing significant energy constraints.
The construction of the Field's Holmston project commenced during the summer, with the Drum Farm project scheduled to begin in early autumn. Both facilities are expected to be operational by the end of 2026. Henry Peng, Envision Energy’s Senior Vice President, emphasized Scotland’s importance as a strategic market for the company. He underlined the significance of the collaboration with Field, stating, "Our partnership demonstrates confidence in our technical proficiency and effective battery energy storage solutions.
