Lifesaver Training: Keeping Your Family Safe at Water Locations

Lifesaver Training: Keeping Your Family Safe at Water Locations

In an effort to protect families from water-related accidents during the summer, the Nagoya branch of Open House Group, in partnership with the Aichi Lifesaving Association, hosted a hands-on training session at Shinmaiko Blue Sun Beach. As part of this initiative, the company also donated children's life jackets to the Shinmaiko Marine Park administration, aiming to ensure that children can enjoy water activities safely.

The Importance of Water Safety Training

This workshop is a continuation of last year's successful event, aimed at educating parents and children about the essential safety practices required before engaging in water activities. With two qualified lifeguards from the Aichi Lifesaving Association as instructors, participants received guidance on various water safety measures and the importance of proper life jacket usage.

Training Workshop Overview

The training session covered several critical areas for beach safety, including:
  • - Heat Illness Prevention: The instructors provided crucial tips on avoiding heat-related issues during pool outings or beach activities.
  • - Parental Vigilance: Parents were advised on how to supervise their children effectively during water play, underscoring the relationship between attentive guardianship and accident prevention.
  • - Proper Life Jacket Usage: Participants learned how to correctly wear and use life jackets through demonstrations, promoting the importance of this safety equipment.
  • - Emergency Response: In instances of witnessing someone drowning, the attendees learned essential steps to take to provide immediate assistance.
  • - Understanding Rip Currents: The instructors explained the dangers of rip currents and the best strategies to counteract them, ensuring participants are well-informed about environmental hazards.
