CAMINUS Partners with Amprius Technologies for Advanced Battery Production
On October 5, 2026, CAMINUS, a U.S. manufacturer of lithium-ion battery cells and electrodes, announced that they have signed a contract manufacturing agreement with Amprius Technologies, Inc. This partnership will enable CAMINUS to produce advanced silicon-anode pouch cells at its facility in Indianapolis, enhancing domestic production capacity for Amprius’s clientele in sectors such as aviation, defense, and unmanned systems.
The collaboration aims to streamline the entire production process of lithium-ion batteries. It will allow for the manufacture of Amprius-designed pouch cells, beginning from partial assembly of supplied components through to full-scale cell production. This strategic approach will accommodate various cell formats, ensuring that production aligns with each format's specific volume and qualification status.
Adrian Yao, the founder and CEO of CAMINUS, remarked that efficient manufacturing execution is vital in Western supply chains. He emphasized that this agreement reflects the productive synergies inherent within the domestic battery ecosystem. CAMINUS leverages advanced product designs combined with established manufacturing capabilities to deliver domestically produced cells to market with unprecedented speed. This partnership positions CAMINUS to quickly respond to the needs of companies like Amprius.
Ronnie Tao, the Chief Business Officer at Amprius Technologies, highlighted the importance of building a robust, NDAA-compliant supply chain, especially when serving defense customers. He noted that CAMINUS’s expertise in pouch cell manufacturing aligns well with Amprius’s requirements, fortifying the domestic battery infrastructure essential for mission-critical systems.
CAMINUS operates a vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, covering 92,000 square feet. This facility is designed for end-to-end battery production, including slurry mixing, high-quality electrode coating, automated cell assembly, and formation. Such capabilities support a supply chain compliant with NDAA Section 842, which is critical for applications in defense and unmanned systems. In addition to providing contract manufacturing services, CAMINUS also manufactures its own line of cell and battery pack products to meet the growing demand for high-performance energy storage solutions.
