LAVA International, a leading company operating over 700 hot yoga studios across Japan, is excited to announce the grand opening of its first studio in Malaysia, named "LAVA Hot Yoga & Pilates Studio Mont Kiara." Scheduled to open on September 15, 2025, this new studio will serve as a beacon of wellness in the vibrant community of Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, known for its diverse residents and health-conscious culture.
Set in Solaris, the commercial heart of Mont Kiara, the studio proudly integrates patented features using domestic Japanese hinoki wood throughout its design. This includes shoji-inspired windows that filter in soft light, creating a serene atmosphere that fosters both tranquility and wellness. LAVA will also adapt its popular programs from Japan to cater to the local market, training local instructors with expert guidance from LAVA's seasoned trainers in Japan. This will ensure that the quality of service remains top-notch, blending traditional Japanese elements with local influences to nurture the LAVA brand's presence in Malaysia.
The Rationale for Opening in Malaysia
With a rising wellness demand in Southeast Asia and an increasing interest in Japanese culture, Malaysia has emerged as an ideal location for LAVA's expansion. Leveraging the experience gained from launching in Singapore and Vietnam, Mont Kiara was chosen as a new platform to introduce LAVA's unique wellness offerings. By combining hot yoga and machine Pilates, the studio aims to create a superior wellness experience for its clients.
A Sophisticated Japanese Modern Space
The interior of "LAVA Hot Yoga & Pilates Studio Mont Kiara" is designed to evoke warmth and a connection to nature, characterized by ample use of wood. The soothing aroma of hinoki wood fills the studio, while the shoji-style windows allow gentle light to permeate the space, ideal for cultivating calmness and relaxation. The area beside the front desk, known as "The Zen Deck," encapsulates a sophisticated Japanese modern aesthetic, harmoniously blending traditional elements with the diverse culture of Malaysia. Beyond being just a fitness studio, it aspires to be a cultural bridge connecting both communities.
Innovative Woodstone Studio Concept
LAVA's proprietary development, the "Woodstone Studio," is a unique feature of the Mont Kiara location. This patented design involves installing ore beneath hinoki flooring, which is then heated from below. The studio utilizes hinoki aged over 80 years, allowing clients to enjoy the stress-relieving benefits of phytoncides, making participants feel as if they are practicing yoga within a forest. Furthermore, a blend of carefully selected stones from around the world is placed under the flooring, emitting far-infrared rays to deeply warm the body.
High-Quality LAVA Lessons in Malaysia
To ensure the success of the new studio, LAVA will send training instructors from Japan to provide direct guidance to local instructors. This commitment to high-quality, personalized instruction underscores LAVA's philosophy of enhancing both mind and body. The studio aims to deliver a unique experience characterized by community, culture, and exceptional service, regardless of geographic or cultural barriers.
