Spacid and G.C. Planning Launch Innovative Payment Proof Trials
On September 25, 2026, Spacid Inc. and G.C. Planning, Inc. will commence a groundbreaking proof of concept for payment transactions at the museum shop of the Sakura City Museum, utilizing the Japan's quasi-zenith satellite system, Michibiki. This trial aims to leverage the spatial proof system designed by Spacid, combined with G.C. Planning's cashless payment system, allowing transaction information to be supplemented with location and time data. Ultimately, this initiative is set to enhance verification of transaction legitimacy and curb fraudulent activities related to payment systems.
Background
With the increasing popularity of cashless and mobile payment systems, challenges surrounding fraudulent use of payment terminals and impersonation at transaction locations have surfaced. The need for a more secure payment environment has never been more pressing.
To tackle these challenges, Spacid is working within the framework established by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and J-SPARC to authenticate signals from Michibiki and pair these with timestamps. They are collaborating to commercialize the Michibiki spatial proof system, which is currently pending joint patent application with Shikumi Lab, Inc.
Meanwhile, G.C. Planning has made significant strides in enhancing the security of payment services, having obtained ISO/IEC 27001 certification related to information security management systems, and aligning with internationally recognized security standards in the credit card industry, such as EMV and PCI DSS.
Through the combination of both entities' technologies and expertise, a system will be tested that verifies the legitimacy of payment transactions by integrating Michibiki's spatial proof system with cashless payment methods, thereby including time and location data in transaction records.
