Unveiling Koigakubo MIRAIE Living: A New Hub for Active Seniors
Toyota Mobility Tokyo Corporation, led by President Yasuhiko Sato, has inaugurated a fresh concept space named
Koigakubo MIRAIE Living. Officially opened on
October 16, 2025, this initiative utilizes the former Kokubunji store building, targeting primarily active seniors while fostering intergenerational engagement. The driving philosophy behind this innovative space can be encapsulated in the tagline: '
Let’s talk more about ___!' Here, the blank can be filled with three significant themes:
Cars, Community, Lifestyle. This unique approach encourages lively discourse among visitors, catering to local needs and enhancing everyday challenges through fun and informative interactions.
A Welcoming Atmosphere
The interior of
Koigakubo MIRAIE Living has been thoughtfully redesigned to embody a cozy and tranquil environment. A calming wood-themed decor invites patrons to unwind, offering a relaxing alternative to conventional retail spaces. This venue is designed to serve as an
additional living room, where everyone can feel at home.
To compliment this atmosphere, a newly established café stand serves delicious coffee and tea at affordable prices, promoting it as a place where individuals of all ages can gather and enjoy a serene escape.
Safety and Longevity in Driving
In alignment with the mission to ensure that seniors can safely and comfortably continue driving, Toyota is collaborating with
Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. to create and provide the
Safe and Secure Driving Dock. This initiative aims to assess cognitive and physical functions in a straightforward manner, followed by personalized training programs tailored to individual needs. The goal is to foster longer, safer driving experiences for seniors, enhancing their mobility and independence.
It's essential to note that
Koigakubo MIRAIE Living will not engage in vehicle sales or routine maintenance services. Instead, the focus is on facilitating meaningful communication and interaction between the community and the brand—an entirely new concept space built for social engagement and support. However, select services like hand car washes will still be available.
Looking Forward to Community Connections
Koigakubo MIRAIE Living aims to keep the public informed about ongoing initiatives and updates. Future communication will be made via the company’s website and local advertising platforms. This space seeks to create a vibrant community hub—inviting the residents of Kunitachi City and surrounding areas to come together, share insights, and grow stronger as a community. Stay tuned for ongoing developments and expected activities that promise an enriching experience for all participants.
