Experience the Surge of Creativity at LURF GALLERY with 'WAVE 2026'
LURF GALLERY is set to host a major art exhibition titled 'WAVE 2026', commencing on September 19, 2026. This remarkable event boasts participation from
108 talented artists and promises a captivating blend of
art,
graphics, and
illustration, transcending various genres and styles. Curated by the esteemed
Kintaro Takahashi and
Hiro Sugiyama, this exhibition continues the legacy of the 'WAVE' exhibits that have started in 2018. With successful showcases in cities like
Los Angeles,
São Paulo, and
London, it has attracted over
220,000 visitors in total, enhancing the visibility of contemporary Japanese art on a global scale.
A Look into the Exhibition
The 8th installment in Japan, 'WAVE 2026', is meticulously divided into two segments:
WAVE BLUE and
WAVE YELLOW. Each section will present unique artists and artworks, providing fresh perspectives and experiences for every visitor.
WAVE BLUE (September 19 – October 12, 2026)
The first part,
WAVE BLUE, sets the stage for 89 distinguished artists. Highlights include renowned figures such as
Tadashi Asano,
Ryoji Arai, and emerging artists like
Kohhei Niino. This portion will exhibit their innovative creations, with the goal of encouraging engagement and reflection on the evolving nature of art.
WAVE YELLOW (October 17 – November 1, 2026)
Following WAVE BLUE, the second segment,
WAVE YELLOW, will feature an additional 19 artists, including
Keiji Ito and
Ami Naruyama, offering a distinct approach to artistry that complements the initial exhibition.
