BancFirst Corporation Celebrates Impressive Earnings Surge in Q2 2026

BancFirst Corporation Reports Second Quarter Earnings

BancFirst Corporation, headquartered in Oklahoma, has made headlines with their latest financial results for the second quarter of 2026, achieving a robust net income of $66.7 million, which translates to $1.96 per diluted share. This represents a commendable increase from the $62.3 million, or $1.85 per diluted share, earned during the same quarter in 2025. This profitability surge reflects the company's strategic growth and sustained financial health.

The growth in net interest income, which rose to $133.5 million from $121.3 million year-over-year, is primarily attributed to an increase in loan volume and an overall growth in earning assets. BancFirst’s net interest margin also saw a positive trend, climbing to 3.84% from last year's 3.75%. This positive growth trajectory highlights the bank's efficient asset management and lending practices.

Despite increased expenses, BancFirst’s well-planned strategies led to solid financial results. The company's noninterest income, which includes fees and service charges, totaled $53.9 million, markedly higher than the $48 million recorded during the same period last year. Significant gains in trust revenue, service charges on deposits, and securities transactions contributed positively to this growth, although the increase was moderated by a decline in insurance commissions.

Noninterest expenses also increased, reaching $97.5 million compared to $88.2 million in the prior year. This rise is largely due to heightened salaries and employee benefits, which increased by $5.2 million. The overall total for salaries and employee benefits was $60.3 million, adjusted favorably by $800,000 in respect for the funded employee benefit trust. Additionally, costs related to other real estate owned saw a rise of $1.6 million.

As of June 30, 2026, BancFirst’s total assets stood at $15.1 billion, marking an increase of $243.4 million since December 2025, with loans also rising by $110.6 million to $8.7 billion. Deposits amounted to $12.8 billion, which was up by $155.9 million since the end of 2025.

One of the highlights of this quarter was the announcement of BancFirst’s impending acquisition of SpiritBank. This strategic move will significantly bolster the bank's presence in the Tulsa market, covering the surrounding communities of Bristow and Sapulpa. Completion of this acquisition is subject to regulatory approval, with a planned closure and subsequent integration expected in the fourth quarter.

CEO David Harlow expressed satisfaction with the results, noting that the record quarterly performance was fueled by asset growth and a strong net interest margin despite a cautious economic outlook. He reassured stakeholders that despite a $4.9 million provision for credit losses, the bank’s loan portfolio remained healthy with historically low charge-off levels.

BancFirst Corporation stands as a major player in the financial services sector, operating through its subsidiaries including BancFirst, Pegasus Bank, and Worthington Bank. With a wide-ranging network of banking locations across Oklahoma and Texas, the company aims to leverage its financial acumen and strategic growth measures for continued success in the rapidly evolving banking landscape.

These results underscored BancFirst's strong operational fundamentals and continued commitment to serving its communities effectively. The optimism surrounding its recent performances is set against a backdrop of careful planning and market adaptability, positioning BancFirst Corporation for sustained growth in the future.
