Nexteer's India Technical Center Expansion Enhances Driveline Validation Techniques

Nexteer Automotive Expands India Technical Center

Nexteer Automotive, recognized as a global frontrunner in motion control technology, has recently announced the significant expansion of its India Technical Center (INTC). This strategic move aims to enhance its driveline validation capabilities, thereby offering improved support to local OEM customers. The newly added facility, which spans 1,900 square meters, is strategically located just 20 kilometers from the existing Bengaluru site.

Enhancing Engineering and Validation Support

The expansion not only represents a physical increase in Nexteer's infrastructure but also signifies a deeper commitment to enhancing local engineering and validation capabilities. These advancements are crucial for production and design validation testing, enabling Nexteer to provide faster, localized responses to OEMs in India. As the automotive industry evolves, having a strong validation presence is paramount, especially in a rapidly developing market like India.

During an inaugural event held to celebrate the center's expansion, top executives from Nexteer came together with local teams and important customers, underscoring the center's growing importance in the company's global operations. Robin Milavec, the President and Chief Technology Officer of Nexteer Automotive, expressed that this expansion is a crucial step in the company’s strategy to establish comprehensive validation capabilities across its global network. He stated, "This investment enables our India team to complement its digital expertise with new physical validation capabilities, ensuring quality and speed in collaboration with our regional OEM partners."

A Multifaceted Approach to Technology and Validation

Since its inception in 2018, the INTC has evolved from a mere Software Center into a multidisciplinary technology hub. It has been pivotal in driving software development, simulation, and digital validation of advanced driveline and steering systems. The latest expansion brings physical validation capabilities into the mix, providing extensive testing and validation for driveline systems, which includes both production and design phases.

Madhav Kulkarni, the Managing Director for Nexteer in India, noted that this expansion reinforces the strategic significance of the India engineering team while also reflecting the company's dedication to innovation and agility. As Nexteer aims for a future filled with collaboration and rapid advancements, this move solidifies its positioning within the competitive automotive market.

A Commitment to Innovation

Nexteer Automotive is not just a player in the automotive industry; it is a leader in redefining movement through innovative technologies that ensure safety and sustainability. Their portfolio includes advanced solutions such as by-wire chassis control, hydraulic power steering, steer-by-wire systems, and brake-by-wire technologies. The company's efforts are aligned with broader trends in electrification, automated driving, and shared mobility.

This expansion of the INTC represents Nexteer's strategic approach to harnessing local resources to meet global challenges, making it a key player in both Indian and global automotive sectors. As the market continues to grow, Nexteer's enhanced capabilities in India will play a significant role in shaping the future of motion control technology worldwide.

In summary, the growth of Nexteer’s India Technical Center marks a defining moment in their ongoing journey of innovation and development, positioning the company to better serve its clients while adapting to the increasing demands of the automotive industry.
