Bybit Restores Full Access for Indian Users, Confirms Compliance Commitment

Bybit Restores Full Access for Indian Users

In a significant development for cryptocurrency enthusiasts in India, Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has announced that it has restored full access to its Bybit app on both the App Store and Google Play for Indian users. This development represents a crucial milestone in Bybit's long-term dedication to the Indian market, highlighting its commitment to compliance and transparency in the rapidly evolving crypto environment.

Following extensive efforts to harmonize regulatory compliance, Bybit is bringing back its services to Indian users. The initial stages have begun with the gradual restoration of access to its website, which is expected to be fully operational in the next three to four days. As part of this regulatory process, Bybit registered as a reporting entity with the Financial Intelligence Unit of India (FIU-IND) early this year to ensure that its operations align with the Indian Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The relaunch allows Indian users once again to engage in various trading services provided by Bybit, which include Spot, Derivatives, Options, and Copy Trading, all supported by solid Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and enhanced security measures. The trading operations had initially resumed on February 25, 2025, enabling authorized users to access all trading functionalities; however, the full capabilities of the website and app were only launched after thorough discussions with the relevant authorities.

Ben Zhou, the co-founder and CEO of Bybit, expressed enthusiasm about returning to the Indian market. He stated, "India is regarded as one of the most promising markets for digital assets globally. We are excited to resume our normal operations and reaffirm our commitment to providing Indian users with safe and transparent world-class crypto experiences. This is not a comeback; it is a new chapter for Bybit in India."

Vikas Gupta, Bybit’s Country Manager for India, added, "This is a milestone for Bybit India. We are eager to provide Indian users with a smooth and compliant trading experience. Our vision extends beyond trading; we are committed to enhancing India’s rapidly growing crypto ecosystem through massive education initiatives, strategic partnerships, and community-led projects."

In a further push to enhance brand visibility and strengthen its presence in the region, Bybit became the title sponsor of the India Blockchain Tour 2025, which kicked off on June 28 in Hyderabad. The tour will continue with its next event, Metamorphosis, scheduled to take place in New Delhi on September 27-28. Additionally, Bybit has launched the World Series of Trading (WSOT) 2025, which includes several campaigns to welcome new users and offers exciting rewards such as cars, iPhones, and more.

Bybit’s operations, initially founded in 2018, have consistently aimed at redefining transparency in the decentralized world by creating an accessible, open ecosystem for everyone. With a strong emphasis on Web3, Bybit strategically collaborates with leading blockchain protocols to provide robust infrastructure and drive on-chain innovation. It has become well-known for its secure custody, diverse marketplaces, user-friendly experience, and advanced blockchain tools, bridging the gap between traditional finance and decentralized finance, thus allowing builders and creators to unlock the full potential of Web3.
