Celebrate the New Year with Galette des Rois at Le Bien Bakery

As the New Year approaches, the beloved French bakery, Le Bien, located in Brittany, will offer the traditional pastry known as Galette des Rois starting December 28th. This period is a delightful time for locals and visitors alike to indulge in this festive treat, which is a staple for the celebration of Epiphany on January 6th.

What is Galette des Rois?

The Galette des Rois, or King's Cake, is a cherished French dessert that is traditionally enjoyed to commemorate the feast of Epiphany. When this cake is sliced, a small porcelain figure known as a fève is hidden inside. The person who finds the fève in their slice is crowned king or queen for the day, making the dessert an interactive experience filled with joy and fun!

The Unique Flavor of Le Bien's Galette des Rois

At Le Bien, each Galette des Rois is meticulously crafted with a flaky, golden pastry filled with a sumptuous almond cream that features notes of both almonds and hazelnuts. To enhance its aroma and flavor, rum and vanilla are expertly blended into the cream. As a delightful twist, the galette includes a whole almond as a substitute for the traditional fève, allowing families and friends to share in the excitement.
