TCL CSOT Unveils Groundbreaking VR Display Technology at MWC 2025

At the recent MWC 2025, TCL CSOT, a global leader in display technology for over 15 years, made headlines by showcasing its latest innovations in immersive virtual reality (VR) display technologies. Among the standout products presented was an energy-efficient 2.56-inch VR screen, marking a significant leap in visual performance with a pixel density of 1500 pixels per inch (PPI). This revolutionary display is designed to enhance user experience by bringing a new level of detail and clarity to virtual environments.

Pioneering Energy-Efficient VR Technology

The introduction of TCL CSOT’s ultra-low power consumption VR display highlights the brand’s commitment to sustainability without compromising performance. By employing advanced COA (Chip On Array) technology and high-efficiency Mini LED backlighting, this screen minimizes color shift, enhances visual comfort, and optimizes energy use. Notably, the display increases luminous efficiency by 40% compared to conventional Mini LED backlight systems, leading to a more immersive experience while prolonging battery life for devices featuring this high PPI technology.

This new generation of VR screens facilitates extended usage sessions without discomfort, which is crucial for professional and gaming applications where immersive experiences are paramount.

Leading the Market with High Pixel Density

TCL CSOT also proudly unveiled the world's first mass-produced VR screen boasting an astonishing 1512 PPI. This high-resolution display, with dimensions of 3840×3744 pixels, guarantees exceptional detail and clarity, making it a game changer in the VR market. With a brightness level of 200 nits and a color coverage of 96% for the DCI-P3 color gamut, the visuals produced are vivid and lifelike, significantly enhancing the immersive experience.

The VR screen includes a field of view (FOV) of 120 degrees, which greatly improves peripheral vision accuracy, allowing users to navigate digital landscapes with unprecedented clarity. This technological advancement is not just beneficial for gaming but also for professional fields requiring meticulous design capabilities, establishing a realistic interaction with virtual elements.

Renowned companies in the industry have already begun to realize the potential of TCL CSOT’s latest innovations. In partnership with Varjo, this advanced VR screen has been incorporated into the Varjo XR-4 VR headset, noted as the highest PPI headset in existence. The collaboration underscores TCL CSOT's dedication to meeting the demands of high-performance users.

Future Implications of Advanced VR

Jun Zhao, General Manager of TCL CSOT, emphasized the transformative power of virtual reality, stating, “VR is changing how we learn, work, and interact. As more people immerse themselves in the world of virtual reality, TCL CSOT is providing leading-edge visual technologies that put users at the forefront of this emerging trend.” He further expressed that the company’s innovations are paving the way for more accessible, comfortable, and innovative VR experiences, pointing towards a future where VR solutions are as commonplace as the screens we use today.
