Introducing the UK Market Entry Program at London Tech Week for the Third Consecutive Year
The West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC) is inviting qualified businesses to apply for its distinctive UK market entry program. For the 2025/26 cycle, there are 15 available slots. This launch, scheduled for June 11th, 2025, coincides with the London Tech Week and follows a successful previous year where the program aided 17 UK and international companies in generating over 300 jobs within the West Midlands.
The 'West Midlands Breakfast Takeover' will commence at 9:00 AM at The Shard, in partnership with the Warwick Business School, showcasing the region's world-class innovation capabilities and opportunities for ambitious, fast-growing ventures.
Now in its third consecutive year, the Global Growth Program is a fully funded, nine-month support package designed for international tech companies looking to establish themselves in the area. The program offers completely subsidized office spaces across one of six innovation centers located in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Coventry. Participating businesses can choose from 20 industry-specific support packages tailored to four key sectors: Health Tech, Clean Tech, Digital Tech, and Future Mobility. These offerings are structured to streamline entry into the UK market, giving companies access to commercial networks, further education institutions, and innovation centers throughout the region.
The initiative simplifies the investment process for international firms entering the UK, providing comprehensive assistance from market entry strategies to visa applications and housing solutions. Supported by several innovation-oriented partners—including Innovate UK and the Connected Places Catapult as part of the DIATOMIC Innovation Accelerator Programme—the program benefits from additional backing from Midlands Innovation and other local entities.
During the 'West Midlands Breakfast Takeover,' Taras Matselyukh, CEO of OPT/NET—a Dutch firm offering high-quality AI solutions for critical infrastructure—will share insights regarding his participation in the Global Growth Programme and his motivations for choosing Birmingham as a destination for investment.
Neil Rami, Chairman of the West Midlands Growth Company, commented, “It’s never been more thrilling to be part of the West Midlands business ecosystem. With an emerging tech sector, a world-class talent pool, and outstanding education infrastructure, the region offers an optimal environment for innovation-focused international businesses looking to expand.” He further added, “Our Global Growth Program has emerged as a successful model over the past two years, providing essential support to dynamic international enterprises like OPT/NET in realizing their growth ambitions in the UK. I am excited to work with a new wave of companies in 2025.”
Taras Matselyukh remarked, “STEAMhouse in Birmingham became the clear choice for our new UK headquarters thanks to its strong network of potential clients and a world-class support ecosystem. With the backing of the West Midlands Global Growth Program, we swiftly forged valuable partnerships, enhanced our market presence in the UK, and found an ideal setting for the evolution of OPT/NET’s flagship product, OptOSS AI.”
