New Japanese Unagi Restaurant 'Unakin' to Open Near Kagurazaka Station

The Unakin Experience

Nestled just a minute's walk from Tokyo's Kagurazaka Station, Unakin is set to become a culinary haven, specializing in grilled eel, or unagi. This flagship location is brought to life by J-ART Co., Ltd., a company rooted in the rich culinary traditions of Japan. With a philosophy that emphasizes quality and tradition, Unakin aims to serve not just food but a heartfelt experience.

Founded in 1987, J-ART draws inspiration from 'Masuya Daikokudo,' a well-respected Japanese dining establishment in Gifu that has maintained its legacy of exquisite flavors. At Unakin, the essence of this renowned taste is preserved, providing guests with a high-quality, affordable indulgence.

Commitment to Quality

Unakin's commitment to using only the finest Japanese eel is unwavering. The restaurant sources its eels directly from various regions, such as Hamana Lake, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima, ensuring that each piece meets their rigorous quality standards. Customers can expect larger and thicker eels that carry a rich flavor profile, superbly grilled to enhance their natural taste.

In addition to exceptional eels, Unakin boasts a secret sauce made with a special type of soy and pure rice mirin following traditional Edo-period methods. This ensures a deep, complex flavor that elevates every bite of grilled eel.

Moreover, the rice served at Unakin is a premium variety of Koshihikari from Gifu, known for its size and mild sweetness, perfectly cooked to complement the eel.

Dine In Style

Whether you are looking for a satisfying lunch or a leisurely dinner, Unakin offers an extensive menu beyond grilled eel. Guests can pair their meals with a selection of drinks and side dishes, ranging from half-sized grilled eel to mouth-watering appetizers such as Dashi-maki tamago (Japanese omelette) and more.

A Relaxing Atmosphere

Unakin is designed to provide a calm and serene environment where guests can savor their meals. For those in a rush, the restaurant offers takeaway options, allowing everyone to enjoy their favorite dishes on-the-go.

Convenient Access

Located in a prime area, Unakin is easily accessible via several transport options. Just one minute from the Tokyo Metro Tōzai Line's Kagurazaka Station and five minutes from the Toei Subway Oedo Line's Ushigome-Kagurazaka Station, it is also within walking distance from JR and Tokyo Metro Iidabashi Station. Nearby attractions like Akagi Shrine add an opportunity for leisurely exploration before or after dining.
