Life Time Foundation's Ongoing Community Commitments at Miami Marathon Weekend
Life Time Foundation's Active Role in Community Engagement
The Life Time Foundation, a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit established by Life Time Inc. (NYSE: LTH), is deeply committed to inspiring healthier communities, promoting sustainability, and fostering youth development. This commitment is vividly displayed as the foundation actively engages with the local community during the Miami Marathon Weekend on February 1-2. With a focus on healthy lifestyles, the foundation aims to enhance the well-being of Miami residents through a series of impactful initiatives designed for people of all ages.
Engaging Activities at the Miami Marathon Weekend
During this exciting weekend, the Life Time Foundation will initiate several engaging activities for the community, ensuring that fun and education go hand in hand. At the Miami Famous Expo, a host of entertaining and educational initiatives will be set up for attendees. Activities will include a dice challenge game and a sign-making station, appealing to attendees of all ages and promoting health and wellness awareness.
Environmental Clean-Up Efforts
On February 1, the foundation will join forces with Clean Miami Beach to support crucial clean-up efforts at Nikki Beach. This initiative aims to remove harmful debris from the local environment, focusing on eliminating single-use plastics that pose threats to marine life and the ecosystem. Clean Miami Beach is dedicated to not only cleaning but also educating the community about the importance of preserving natural habitats. The clean-up event is open to athletes, spectators, and the public, emphasizing community unity in environmental efforts.
Youth Running Program Completion
On February 2, a significant event will mark the culmination of the Life Time Kids Run Miami program, where over 800 students from Miami-Dade County schools will run their Final Mile after an intensive 16-week training program. This youth running initiative is offered for free, allowing middle school students to experience the joy of fitness and achievement, ultimately receiving medals as they cross the Finish Line alongside hundreds of participating Marathon and Half Marathon runners. Community members are welcome to join and cheer at the on-course station, fostering a supportive and enthusiastic atmosphere for young athletes.
Supporting Athletes for a Cause
In addition to the youth initiative, forty-two individuals will participate as athletes to raise at least $1,000 each for the Life Time Foundation. This Athlete Program provides a unique opportunity for participants to support vital initiatives focused on health and sustainability while competing in one of the country’s esteemed endurance events, highlighting the blend of competition and community service.
Continued Commitment Beyond Race Weekend
The contributions from the Life Time Foundation extend well beyond the Miami Marathon weekend. As part of their ongoing commitment, the foundation is providing a $75,000 grant to The Education Fund, specifically for its Food Forests for Schools program. This initiative creates enriching outdoor environments for students, fostering academic success, improving health, and promoting environmental education while enhancing green spaces in schools.
Sarah Emola, Director of the Life Time Foundation, encapsulated the foundation's mission perfectly: “Our commitment to fostering a healthy planet, promoting youth movement, and enhancing youth nutrition aligns seamlessly with Life Time's overarching goal of helping people lead healthy and fulfilling lives.”
The Miami Marathon serves as a platform not just for athletic achievement but as a dynamic venue for community engagement, and the Life Time Foundation is proud to be at the forefront of this significant impact.
