A Visionary in Digital Audio


John Morris is renowned in the digital audio landscape, credited with building some of the most sophisticated cloud-based streaming and podcast platforms in the industry. With over 20 years of extensive experience, he has a proven track record of establishing solutions that meet the challenges faced by digital content providers. Prior to joining SoundStack, Morris served at Abacast, an early innovator in streaming audio technology, where he rose to the role of CTO and Co-President at the time of its acquisition by WideOrbit in 2014.

At WideOrbit, Morris spearheaded the expansion of the company's digital offerings, integrating podcasting capabilities and optimizing programmatic supply-side platforms. His expertise allowed publishers to maximize revenue by fully utilizing their inventory.

Commitment to Growth


After the acquisition of WideOrbit by Audacy in 2021, Morris took on the role of Senior Vice President and General Manager of AmperWave, a rebranded arm of WideOrbit. His leadership there was marked by consistent business growth and the successful launch of new technologies, such as a comprehensive programmatic supply-side platform and advanced yield-optimization solutions.

Morris explains his passion for building, stating, “I need to be in a company where everyone is excited to innovate in a way that solves real problems for the digital audio industry.” He also noted that SoundStack’s unwavering dedication to providing independent solutions and services aligns perfectly with his own ethos and vision.
