For the second consecutive year, Fukui City ranks first in the living satisfaction category. The city is known for its abundance of educational institutions, cultural venues like museums, and a peaceful residential environment surrounded by nature. Following Fukui City in the top three are Minamiechizen Town in Nanjō District, securing the second place, and Sakai City in third. Notably, Echizen Town, previously ranked eighth, has seen a significant rise to fifth place this year, mainly due to its friendly community environment, affordability in living costs, and high safety ratings.

When it comes to desired neighborhoods, Fukui City maintains its position as number one for two years in a row. The survey revealed that 79.1% of respondents are satisfied with their current neighborhoods. While 60.1% reported that they have no strong preference for a different place to live, 19.0% expressed a desire to remain in their current locality. This showcases a strong community loyalty within the region.

The second and third positions in the desired neighborhood category remain unchanged, with the Tokyo 23 wards taking the second spot, followed by Kanazawa City. A new entry is Sabae City at fourth place, reflecting a positive trend in local living conditions. Additionally, Kyoto City improved its position, rising from eighth to fifth place this year.
