Empowering Women in Indonesia: Vantage Markets and Grab Team Up for Success

In a remarkable endeavor to boost female empowerment in Indonesia, Vantage Markets has partnered with its charitable arm, Vantage Foundation, to support Grab Indonesia's Women Driver Program—known as the Wiramudi Grab program. Launched under the umbrella of the #TradeforHope initiative, this collaboration has successfully assisted more than 3,400 women across various Indonesian cities, creating sustainable economic opportunities within the ride-hailing industry.

From November 2024 to January 2025, the Wiramudi Grab program became a lifeline for aspiring female drivers, offering critical support in the form of startup capital, essential equipment, and financial incentives to establish a reliable source of income. The initiative witnessed significant results, including the onboarding of 1,400 new female drivers and the reactivation of 2,000 previously dormant drivers in bustling cities like Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Bandung, Makassar, Semarang, and Yogyakarta.

Participants benefitted from complimentary driver kits consisting of jackets and helmets, alongside reactivation bonuses designed to motivate continuous engagement in the workforce. Statistically speaking, the initiative had a tangible impact, with drivers involved in the program experiencing a 13% rise in trips when compared to those who did not receive any support. Beyond the financial perks, the program has played a pivotal role in uplifting the spirits of its participants, instilling a newfound confidence, nurturing independence, and fostering an enriching sense of community support.

Take the experience of Purwati, one woman whose life transformed through the program. She emphasized that this initiative was more than just a means to secure an income; it provided her with invaluable skills and confidence. "Joining as a lady Grab driver has been incredibly helpful in earning my own income and gaining new knowledge. Plus, I've received great benefits like jackets, helmets, and even cosmetics! These small gestures mean a lot. Thank you so much for the support!" she stated, illustrating the profound personal growth she experienced.
