OSCP Secures Series A Funding to Enhance Navigation Technology
Montréal, October 1, 2026 — OSCPS Motion Sensing Inc., doing business as OSCP, has successfully closed its Series A funding round, attracting substantial investment from New Science Ventures, alongside participation from Emerging Ventures and 2050 Capital. This milestone comes as the demand for reliable navigation technologies that function without satellite signals is on the rise.
The global landscape has changed, transforming what was once seen as a challenge confined to battlefield scenarios. Today, the risk of losing Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is prevalent in civilian spaces such as airports and shipping lanes. As such, OSCP has positioned itself strategically to meet this escalating demand by developing photonic gyroscopes and inertial measurement units (IMUs) designed to operate in environments where GNSS signals might be jammed, spoofed, or rendered unavailable.
Kazem Zandi, the company’s founder and CEO, highlighted the impact of satellite signal loss on various sectors, saying, "Customers want reliable navigation even when GNSS fails, and they need ITAR-free solutions. This funding will accelerate our production capabilities and help us meet this demand swiftly."
The financing will primarily fund the scaling of OSCP’s manufacturing operations in Montréal, enabling the company to bolster its engineering and sales force, while simultaneously facilitating the introduction of its next-generation photonic inertial sensors into the market.
New Science Ventures’ founder and managing partner, Somu Subramaniam, has joined OSCP's board of directors. He expressed enthusiasm over the company’s potential, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with OSCP to innovate on what the market expects from IMUs regarding navigation performance, size, and cost. This investment presents a transformative opportunity for several applications in defense and transportation sectors where autonomous navigation is crucial."
Since closing the funding round in August, OSCP has already made significant strides. The company introduced
NavigationGate, its latest inertial navigation system, further developing support for ArduPilot, and releasing an open-source ROS 2 driver for its MK2 IMU family. Additionally, OSCP has qualified as a supplier on Canada's Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace, which expands its reach and solidifies its place in the industry.
OSCP, founded in 2015, has established itself as a pioneer in developing inertial sensors that deliver tactical-grade photonic accuracy comparable to MEMS technology, ensuring reliability even where GNSS is compromised. The company caters to a diverse range of clients across sectors including space, defense, marine, rail, robotics, and ground autonomy.
