The enchanting journey of K-POP obsession unfolds again with the re-staging of Ladies in the Swamp, set from August 19 to August 24, 2026, at the Kichijoji Theater in Musashino, Tokyo. The eagerly awaited play showcases the trials and tribulations of women of various generations captivated by K-POP idols, promising a delightful mix of laughter and tears. Thanks to overwhelming audience demand after its successful premiere in September 2023, the production returns with a stellar cast, including Michiko Haneda and Rie Shibata, showcasing their exceptional performances under the adept direction of Takahiro Tamura.

The narrative primarily revolves around four women sharing a house, united by their fandom for K-POP sensation 'RION.' Their daily lives are intertwined with RION merchandise and the joys and pitfalls of fan culture. As a new member joins their lively household, they win a chance to engage in a video call with RION, sending their excitement soaring. However, a surprising scoop about RION hits the tabloids, leaving the characters wondering just how deep they are willing to go in their obsession.

Using the lens of humor, the play delves into the concept of 'oshi-katsu,' a term that defines the act of passionately supporting one's favorite idols. In an era where both youth and adults find solace in their idols, it poses essential questions about what it means to connect with something or someone deeply.
