An Exciting Prelude to TOKYO CREATIVE SALON 2026

The TOKYO CREATIVE SALON, a monumental celebration of creativity, is set to return to the vibrant streets of Tokyo from March 13 to March 22, 2026. This year marks the seventh edition of the festival, and it promises to be bigger and more engaging than ever. The Executive Committee for the Tokyo Creative Salon has shared that the event will unfold in nine prominent areas across the city including Marunouchi, Nihonbashi, Ginza, Akasaka, Roppongi, Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Haneda, all of which will be free and open to the public.

Since its inception in 2020, TOKYO CREATIVE SALON has evolved into a significant cultural event that embraces the full spectrum of creativity across fashion, design, art, craftsmanship, and technology, coinciding beautifully with Tokyo's cherry blossom season. This impressive festival has garnered attention both nationally and globally, attracting over 1.25 million visitors in its last edition alone, creating a vibrant buzz around Japan’s creative landscape.

The theme for 2026 is “FUTURE VINTAGE”, which delves into how the cultural memories and artistic expressions rooted in Tokyo can be reinterpreted with contemporary sensibilities. This year’s vision aims to connect generational echoes of creativity from the heart of Tokyo to the rest of the world, exploring how past experiences can resonate in new and innovative forms.

Hiroshi Ohnishi, the president of TCS2026, emphasized the importance of cultural connections, stating, "Cities worldwide are enhancing their cultural value by bringing together creators and communities. TOKYO CREATIVE SALON showcases Japan's world-class creativity with Tokyo as its backdrop. Under the theme 'FUTURE VINTAGE', we strive to link the city’s cultural memories with expressions that will hold significance for future generations.”

Adding to this vision, Satoshi Sugiyama, the executive director, highlighted Tokyo’s rich tapestry of creativity that has evolved over time. He said, "Through TOKYO CREATIVE SALON, we reinterpret these layers with contemporary insights, transforming the city into a canvas for creative expression. 'FUTURE VINTAGE' reflects our intent to revisit deep-rooted memories from Tokyo and shape new forms of creativity destined to last.”
