Sanwa Computer Revolutionizes Golf Course Management with New DX System
Sanwa Computer Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, CEO: Masaru Motonaga) has collaborated with Pacific Club Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, CEO: Han Jun) to develop an innovative cloud-based golf course management system aimed at transforming the operational efficiency of golf course maintenance. This new system is set to undergo trial implementation at the Yachiyoko Course managed by Pacific Club, marking a significant step forward in digital transformation (DX) for golf course management.
Since August 2024, Sanwa Computer has been dedicated to addressing various challenges within golf course management, including the risk of dependency on specific individuals, the need for technical succession, and adaptation to environmental changes. Leveraging the course management know-how cultivated by Pacific Club, the new system converts this expertise into functional requirements, resulting in the release of a prototype.
This system allows golf course staff to log the condition of the turf and maintenance activities using smartphones and other devices, storing valuable data for further utilization. The DX transformation of course management is not just a theoretical concept but a practical application that enhances management quality and efficiency. Starting October 2025, Sanwa Computer will initiate a test implementation of this system at Pacific Club's Yachiyoko Course, coinciding with the upcoming 2025 Japan Turf Show, scheduled for November 6 and 7, where the system will be showcased.
For over 50 years, Sanwa Computer has provided essential systems to golf courses across Japan, assisting them in overcoming management challenges. The development of this service, focused on improving the quality of course management, represents a new chapter in their long-standing commitment to the golfing community. Key functionalities of the system include recording maintenance tasks, generating daily reports, and maintaining observation records, all of which can be logged conveniently on-site. This feature is expected to significantly reduce the administrative workload for course managers, allowing them to focus more on improving course quality.
Looking ahead, Sanwa Computer plans to integrate features such as collaboration with work planning whiteboards, weather monitoring devices, and AI-driven data analysis functionalities to further enhance the system's capabilities. By fostering better information sharing among experienced staff and less experienced personnel, the system aims to boost efficiency and overall quality in course management. This improvement will likely enhance customer experiences, driving positive returns through increased repeat visits and contributing to the ongoing digital transformation of course maintenance.
The official launch of the system is anticipated in the spring of next year, coinciding with the excitement building around its trial at the Yachiyoko Course.
