Upsolar Japan to Showcase Innovative Solutions at PV EXPO 2026
Upsolar Japan, a leader in solar technology, is set to unveil its latest products at the
PV EXPO, part of the
Smart Energy Week held at the
Tokyo Big Sight from
March 17 to 19, 2026. The company's booth, located at
E7-30 in
Hall 4, will offer live demonstrations of various innovative solutions tailored for unique Japanese conditions.
This exhibition comes at a crucial time, as solar power continues to expand significantly in Japan after the inception of the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) system. However, the industry faces increasing challenges such as limited land availability, concerns about waterproofing and load capacity on rooftops, and the need for region-specific design considerations, particularly in areas prone to heavy snow or agricultural use. The original installations from the initial FIT period are reaching their replacement phase, leading to greater costs and logistical challenges.
In response to these industry shifts,
Upsolar Japan has developed products that address the pressing needs of the market. Here are some highlights of the solutions that will be featured at the booth:
Highlights of the Products
1.
UP-Base NEO: A lightweight, anchor-free mounting system designed for flat rooftop installations. This innovative design eases installation processes, alleviating concerns about waterproofing and construction complexity. It’s the ideal choice for projects looking to maximize rooftop solar without additional burdens. An installation case from
Kumamoto showcases a successful 66 kW setup using the UP-Base NEO.
2.
UP-Stand: Designed for regions that experience heavy snowfall and agricultural requirements, this vertical solar frame supports maintenance of both light exposure for crops and effective snow management. This approach makes it easier for users in such unique conditions to begin solar projects. The unit was successfully installed at a 3 kW site in
Mie Prefecture.
3.
Old Size Panel Replacement: Adjustments to the solar market have led to new panel sizes, which can complicate replacements of older systems. Upsolar introduces an old size panel option that simplifies upgrades, allowing users to retain their existing mounting structures while replacing outdated panels.
4.
Anchor Foundation Compatible Mounting System: When retrofitting existing solar systems, different manufacturers have different anchor requirements, which can complicate installations. Upsolar’s new system adapts to various anchor foundations, easing installation burdens. A noteworthy case is the installation of a 32 kW system in
Tokyo.
