New Urban Spa Opening in Hakata: Experience the Essence of Trees at TOTOPA

Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. has officially announced the opening of its second urban spa facility, TOTOPA Hakata Ekimae. Located at the site of the Meiji Park development, this facility will welcome visitors starting August 7, 2026. Following the success of the first TOTOPA store in Shinjuku, which has already achieved recognition with two consecutive SAUNACHELIN awards in 2024 and 2025, this new location aims to bring a unique relaxation experience to the city of Hakata.

Origin and Concept of TOTOPA

TOTOPA is a brand that utilizes the know-how acquired through the operation of the Ofuro no Osama bathing facilities since 1999. TOTOPA delivers a unique urban relaxation experience by focusing on compact yet distinctive spa offerings in city centers. The first location, TOTOPA Meiji Park, successfully pioneered innovative sound design and sauna experiences, which have garnered praise and awards for their thoughtful design.

The Hakata location will highlight a new sauna experience themed around trees, utilizing Western Red Cedar, which has become increasingly rare due to environmental restrictions. This large tree will be fully utilized in the design of the sauna, ensuring that visitors can engage all five senses while appreciating the beauty and essence of the wood.
