Priority Pass Accelerates Travel Innovation with New Funding of £350 Million

Priority Pass, the original market leader of airport lounge experiences, has unveiled plans to enhance its services through a significant new funding initiative. Backed by Collinson Group's ambitious £500 million growth program, the latest move includes a fresh £350 million financial opportunity aimed at accelerating innovation and expanding its network of lounges.

The company aims to leverage advanced data and artificial intelligence capabilities to refine its digital roadmap. This strategy will not only extend Priority Pass's lounge network but will also elevate the overall travel experience for its members. This investment is crucial for sustaining and enhancing the core value propositions that Priority Pass offers its users globally.

As part of the strategic enhancement, Priority Pass has already been rolling out significant improvements. Among these initiatives is the global launch of a new corporate-level technology platform that utilizes modern AI and data architecture. By fostering a more connected digital ecosystem, these upgrades are designed to enable greater personalization for partners and members alike over time.

Collinson, a family-run business, has committed to a long-term growth perspective by continually reinvesting in its services for customers and business partners. This commitment not only allows Priority Pass to grow its global network but also helps in developing new solutions and services in response to evolving market demands.

The bulk of Collinson Group's investment program will focus on expanding Priority Pass’s airport lounge footprint through its sister company, Airport Dimensions. As global air traffic is expected to nearly double by 2045, reaching approximately 19 billion journeys a year, the additional lounge capacities will help sustain and enhance the experience offered to Priority Pass members. Recently, Priority Pass has expanded its global network by 6.7%, resulting in over 1,900 lounges worldwide.

Christopher Evans, CEO of Collinson International, highlighted that travel plays an increasingly vital role in people's lives as operational costs within the sector rise alongside passenger expectations. Today’s travelers seek seamless, connected, and personalized experiences, making investments in customer experience more critical than ever. Evans noted, “This investment reflects a principle that has underpinned our business for over 35 years: investing in better travel experiences creates real value for our partners, customers, and travelers.”

In Turkey, these trends have become markedly evident, reshaping consumer expectations as international connectivity and rising travel demand continue to rise. Istanbul Airport recently secured its status as Europe’s busiest airport, and both domestic and international travel demand continues to escalate. As travel becomes an increasingly significant aspect of consumers' lifestyles and spending priorities, banks and payment systems have the opportunity to meet evolving customer expectations with meaningful value during the customer journey.

Priority Pass members have already witnessed a 26% increase in lounge visits at Istanbul Airport over the past year, indicating a growing demand for premium airport experiences in Turkey.

Enhancing Digital Experience for Members

The investments into Priority Pass are manifesting as enhanced systems, cutting-edge technology, and the introduction of the new Priority Pass+ application. This app is designed to make it easier for members to plan their journeys, access their benefits, and manage their memberships from a single platform.

Future functionalities will utilize artificial intelligence to proactively suggest suitable lounges and travel experiences based on historical behavior and real-time location when enabled. This support will lay the foundation for greater customization based on individual user preferences, delivering timely and relevant experiences while also aiding partners within the network. Integration with partners will continue to evolve, allowing for seamless purchasing of experiences and travel benefits directly through the app.

The improved user experience will also offer easier activation processes, registered card features, biometric verification, as well as email or mobile OTP verification. Eligible members will have the ability to view and manage multiple Priority Pass memberships from a single access point, simplifying the transition between benefits without needing to manage separate accounts or login credentials.

In the near future, eligible primary cardholders will be able to share their Priority Pass+ access rights with additional cardholders while traveling independently, contingent on bank authorization.

Broadening Options and Access for Travelers

While enhancing its core systems, Priority Pass continues to invest in new solutions and services to better support its commercial objectives and adapt to changing passenger expectations. This effort includes the rollout of Priority Pass Private, an exclusive airport experience designed to reward selective travelers with a higher-tier, seamless journey.

The airport fast-track service is now also accessible via the Priority Pass app, offering expedited security lines across 28 airports. Within the next 12 months, the network is expected to expand to over 150 terminals and more than 130 airports worldwide, introducing over 170 fast-track lanes that can be reserved. With 73% of travelers indicating that fast-track services are among the top technologies enhancing airport experience, this offering directly responds to escalating demands for convenience, efficiency, and control during travel.

Priority Pass has transformed from a simple airport lounge access program into a comprehensive travel ecosystem that assists travelers before, during, and after their journeys. The program now accommodates over six million guest visits per month, reflecting the increased value that travelers place on end-to-end premium airport experiences.

The growth program is set to further shape the next generation of airport experiences. In partnership with CAVU, which operates the Escape Lounges, dedicated spaces for Priority Pass members and LoungeKey cardholders have been introduced at five lounges in the UK, increasing the capacity to serve members better. The welcoming teams at Escape Lounges provide Priority Pass members and LoungeKey holders with prioritized access when space becomes available, enhancing visits for the partner and boosting overall lounge traffic.

Investing in the Future of Travel

This announcement follows the Collinson Group's recent disclosure of a £350 million revolving credit facility supporting a five-year, £500 million investment program, which not only benefits Priority Pass but also finances the expansion of the Group's global lounge network, the growth of its insurance portfolio, the development of new technologies and products, market entry, and investment in its employees.

The group has also renewed its commitment to the Collinson Foundation, pledging 5% of its profit until FY29 to programs supporting education, employment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and crisis intervention.
