USA and Belgium Triumph at FIVB Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 in India

The FIVB Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge 2026 reached its thrilling conclusion on March 8, 2026, at the Dutee Chand Athletic Stadium located within the premises of KIIT Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar, India. Uniting 83 teams from 52 countries, this prestigious event showcased the pinnacle of competitive beach volleyball over a span of five action-packed days, attracting top talent and numerous spectators eager to witness extraordinary athletic performances.

In the women’s gold medal match, the talented Japanese duo of Shiba and Reika faced the formidable American pair of Durish and Koenig. Displaying exceptional teamwork and offensive prowess, the American team triumphed in straight sets, clinching victory with scores of 21-18 and 21-16, thereby earning the gold medal. The Japanese team, despite their commendable effort, had to settle for the silver medal, showing remarkable skill and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

The men’s final was equally intense, pitting the Czech team of Sepka and Dzavoronok against the Belgian duo of Vercauteren and Van Langendonck. In a tightly contested match, the Belgian team remained composed and executed their strategies flawlessly, securing a two-set victory with scores of 21-10 and 22-20, thus ascending to gold medal glory. The Czech players were celebrated for their equal efforts, finishing as the runners-up and receiving silver medals for their achievement.

The closing ceremony was marked by inspirational speeches, including a heartfelt message from Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, who extended congratulations to the winning teams and highlighted the remarkable level of competition seen during the event. Dr. Samanta, who also plays a significant role in the Volleyball Federation of India, expressed his satisfaction with the management of the tournament, including the accommodation and hospitality provided to over 300 players and officials participating in the championship. "Everyone enjoyed their stay and were pleased with KIIT's hospitality," he noted proudly.

The event also featured messages of goodwill from significant figures, including a video address from Shri Mansukh Laxmanbhai Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Labor and Employment, who commended the successful execution of this international tournament, praising both the organizers and participants.

As part of this historic occasion, KIIT University celebrated a significant milestone, being the first educational institution in India to host a tournament of the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Challenge series. The event officially commenced on March 4, 2026, with an inauguration led by Shri Prithiviraj Harichandan, the Honorable Minister of Law, Works, and Special Taxation of Odisha, in the presence of international delegates and sports authorities.

Players and officials widely praised the world-class sports infrastructure, professional organization, and welcoming hospitality that KIIT University provided. Many participants acknowledged the exceptional living conditions, quality dining, and overall friendly atmosphere that contributed to making their experience memorable.
