On May 29, 2025, UBE Corporation (President: Yuki Nishida, based in Minato, Tokyo) launched its latest TV commercial titled "UBE and...Breaking Through" featuring the talented actress Mina Hamabe. The commercial centers around the engaging theme of the joys of chemistry and how unexpected changes can lead to new hope. The ad is uniquely designed as a "loop video," showcasing a rapid succession of delightful scenes.

The visuals capture Hamabe in various outfits and hairstyles, embodying the concept of transformation. Viewers are encouraged to pay close attention to her captivating performances as she seamlessly adapts to different looks, emphasizing the dynamic nature of UBE and the innovations it embraces.

Prior to the TVCM release, UBE started unveiling new content including web videos, a dedicated website, and advertisement designs. The new TVCM can be viewed on the special website as well as the official YouTube channel for UBE. Additionally, a behind-the-scenes making movie available on the website features Hamabe holding a flask, while a programmed large robot camera captures the scenes in a loop.

Q1: What are your impressions of this filming?

Having participated in this project for the second time, I feel more connected to chemistry than I did during my first experience. Wearing a lab coat and holding a flask brought back memories of my student days, making this shoot particularly enjoyable and representative of chemistry.

Q2: What stands out in this commercial?

This commercial reflects UBE's constant evolution and challenge. I transform into various characters in a loop, with each outfit change being incredibly cute. I hope viewers pay special attention to that.

Q3: What do you find exciting about chemistry?

The idea that unexpected chemical reactions can occur through unique perspectives and combinations to create something new is thrilling. I genuinely believe it’s an incredible thing.

Q4: Relating to the catchphrase "UBE and...Breaking Through," what do you want to break through?

While maintaining a sense of self is vital, I believe it’s equally important to embrace challenges and changes. I want to break through any limitations I may have regarding how I see myself or where I wish to be, aiming to boldly pursue a future I can create through various challenges.

About Mina Hamabe

Mina Hamabe was born on August 29, 2000, in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. She made her acting debut in 2011 after winning the New Generation Award at the 7th Toho Cinderella Audition. Her breakout role came in 2017 with the film "Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai," for which she received several awards, including the New Actor Award at the 41st Japan Academy Prize. Recently, she has taken on major roles in films and television series, including as the heroine in "Shin Kamen Rider" and the lead in NHK's morning drama "Ranman." On New Year's Eve 2023, she hosted the 74th NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen. In 2024, she'll be seen winning accolades for her performances in two highly anticipated films and will appear in the NHK 2026 Taiga Drama “Toyotomi Brothers!”
