The Beautiful Water Buffalo Council is Here!

In an innovative step for Japan's livestock industry, the Beautiful Water Buffalo Council has been established through a collaboration among Japan Trim Co., Ltd., Maruyu Co., Ltd., and Union Agency Co., Ltd. The council is officially recognized for establishing August 1 as "Beautiful Water Buffalo Day." This recognition is also registered with the Japan Anniversary Association.

The primary objective of the council is to raise awareness and create a new livestock standard in Japan focusing on the Beautiful Water Buffalo.

What are Beautiful Water Buffalos?

The Beautiful Water Buffalo is defined as the cattle that are raised on Tajima beef, nourished with electrolyzed hydrogen water engineered by Japan Trim’s water treatment devices. This unique method produces cattle with a significantly low average fat melting point of 12.6°C and possesses an impressive amount of oleic acid and unsaturated fatty acids, which contribute to its rich flavor and tenderness. Additionally, the high levels of amino acids present promise deep umami, making them unique in the beef industry.

The name "Beautiful Water Buffalo" was chosen through a public poll in March 2022. The term encapsulates the idea that these are cattle nurtured from within through quality hydration. In a significant milestone, the Beautiful Water Buffalo secured the gold medal in the meat category at the 2023 ESSE Hometown Grand Prix.
