Concorso Italiano's 40th Anniversary Celebration: A True Festivity of Italian Automotive Passion
On August 16, 2025, the picturesque Monterey Peninsula will once again host the iconic Concorso Italiano, marking its 40th anniversary during Monterey Car Week. This esteemed gathering will take place at Bayonet Black Horse, inviting car collectors, enthusiasts, media representatives, and Italian automotive legends for a splendid celebration steeped in style, history, and performance.
This year, Concorso Italiano is set to honor the 80th Anniversary of Cisitalia, showcasing a jaw-dropping centerpiece display featuring four factory team cars. This rare collection, seldom seen outside museum environments, will include two original D46 monopostos that participated in Cisitalia's inaugural race in September 1946, as well as the famed Nuvolari Spyder and the innovative Aerodynamica 202 coupe, both of which made their mark in the 1947 Mille Miglia.
Ed Godshalk, a globally recognized Cisitalia expert and U.S. representative of the Cisitalia Register, will be present to share insights about these significant vehicles. “Cisitalia rose from the ashes of World War II, showcasing ingenuity and artistry that heralded the revival of the Italian automotive tradition,” says Godshalk. His presence offers guests an extraordinary chance to hear the remarkable stories surrounding these groundbreaking machines.
Adding excitement to the event, Ed Bolian, the founder of VINwiki and a respected figure in the automotive digital sphere, will unveil the long-hidden Victoria's Secret Lamborghini Diablo. This iconic vehicle, famous in the 1990s for its connection to high-fashion catalog spreads, will shine brightly as the centerpiece of the Lamborghini display, commemorating the Diablo's 35th anniversary.
The Global Exotics Display will highlight the magnificently hand-crafted The Helios by modern coachbuilder Christopher Rünge. This stunning creation marries traditional craftsmanship with futuristic aesthetics through its polished aluminum body and striking gullwing doors. Rünge will also demonstrate the intricate techniques used in crafting this extraordinary piece, affirming his status as a leading figure in bespoke automotive artistry.
