Intalight™ Achieves CE Certification for Revolutionary DREAM OCT™ Imaging System

Intalight™, a leader in advanced ophthalmic technologies, has recently announced that its innovative DREAM OCT™ imaging system has been granted CE certification. This milestone allows the company to commercialize its advanced optical coherence tomography (OCT) platform in Europe, making it accessible to healthcare professionals across the continent.

The CE marking represents a crucial acknowledgment from the European Union, signifying that DREAM OCT meets high health and safety standards. The DREAM acronym stands for Deep, Rapid, Extensive, Accurate, and Multimodal, highlighting the platform's capabilities in delivering in-depth imaging results with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

This state-of-the-art imaging system offers the highest quality OCT images available today, with a remarkable 130-degree OCTA image captured in a single scan. One of its unique features is the ultra-wide angle of coverage, which allows a full view of the vascular and retinal structures, along with significant portions of the vitreous body. Moreover, the DREAM OCT™ achieves an impressive scanning depth of 16.2 mm in air, enabling it to effectively image the entire anterior segment of the eye from the cornea to the anterior portion of the vitreous in one sweep. The longer wavelength facilitates better penetration through opacities in the lens or vitreous, providing clearer images especially needed for comprehensive ocular assessments.

Shawn Peng, Chairman and Founder of Intalight, expressed immense pride in obtaining the CE certification for the DREAM OCT system. He stated, "This achievement enhances our ability to provide ophthalmologists in Europe with cutting-edge technology that will significantly improve patient outcomes."

Additionally, Bing Li, CEO and Co-founder of Intalight, noted the increasing demand from eye care professionals for imaging solutions that meet their clinical needs with both speed and accuracy. "DREAM OCT delivers a comprehensive array of imaging modalities for the most demanding clinical and research applications related to the retina, surpassing previous imaging technologies available to healthcare providers."

The DREAM OCT has been developed using advanced swept-source technology to cater to the needs of retina specialists and general ophthalmologists, providing them with high-resolution imaging options essential for superior patient care and treatment results. Currently, over 160 peer-reviewed publications utilize findings obtained via the DREAM OCT equipment.

Further underscoring its commitment to innovation, Joe Garibaldi, Chief Commercial Officer of Intalight, commented on their eagerness to expand this groundbreaking solution beyond Europe. He stated, “With CE certification now secured, we look forward to pursuing FDA approval, thus broadening our prestigious global network of institutions and ophthalmologists.”

In the realm of ultra-wide field OCTA, Intalight continues to collaborate with leading academic institutions and retinal care specialties across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Founded by a team of scientists and industry veterans from Silicon Valley, Intalight Inc. has established its mission to develop state-of-the-art ophthalmic technologies. The company operates in three locations: Silicon Valley, Shanghai, and Luoyang. The DREAM OCT system has become an indispensable tool for many ophthalmologists, not only for everyday clinical practice but also for pioneering research endeavors.
