Saber Astronautics has officially rolled out its latest innovation, Saber Commander, which represents a significant advancement in the realm of spacecraft and constellation operations software. Utilizing a robust foundation built on its predecessor, the Predictive Ground station Interface (PIGI), this cutting-edge tool is set to transform how we understand and manage satellite operations in an increasingly complex space environment.
A Heritage of Innovation
Originally developed in 2010 and making its debut in 2012, PIGI marked a groundbreaking moment in the space sector. As a NASA Spinout, it was the first globally to employ machine learning to diagnose spacecraft health issues, allowing operators to quickly identify underlying problems. This pioneering software was instrumental in visualizing satellite constellations and was notably the first digital twin using the Unity game engine to gain operational approval from the US Space Force. This led to the launch of Saber's Space Battle Management System (SBMS), a crucial tool for mission success within the various Combat Command Deltas of the US Space Force.
