Fairy Entertainment Achieves Global Recognition at NYC Inclusive Arts Festival

Fairy Entertainment's Remarkable Achievement in NYC

Fairy Entertainment, a Tokyo-based non-profit organization, recently made waves at the Disability Unite Got Talent Artist Contest 2025 held in New York City. This event showcased diverse artists from around the globe and marked a significant milestone for the organization as they secured a spot in the Top 10. Representing a unique blend of welfare and entertainment, Fairy Entertainment aims to create a society where everyone shines, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities.

The Inclusive Challenge: Arts for Everyone

During the festival, several young members of Fairy Entertainment expressed their joy about performing together on stage. "I was happy to stand on stage with my sister who has a disability," shared one member, while another noted, "It gave us confidence to know that we can do this too." This sentiment captures the essence of Fairy Entertainment’s mission—fostering inclusive performances where children and young people can express themselves freely, irrespective of any disabilities.

Fairy Entertainment's participation in this international competition was made possible with a recommendation from Music for SDGs, an organization dedicated to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through music. Their approach has gained widespread recognition due to:

  • - Providing expressive opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities.
  • - Facilitating social participation for disabled children and their siblings.
  • - Employing unique teaching methods and dance styles that support spontaneous expression.
  • - Promoting enjoyable interactions among youth, contributing positively to their development.

From the United Nations Headquarters to Central Park

Rina Yoshikawa, the representative of Fairy Entertainment, was appointed as a Diversity & Inclusion Producer by Music for SDGs for her contributions towards international SDGs efforts. In May 2025, she participated in an SDGs meeting at the United Nations headquarters, followed by a performance at the Japan Parade 2025, where two original songs were presented to an enthusiastic audience. Through dance and music, they passionately advocated for a society where everyone can coexist harmoniously.

Achieving Global Recognition: The Performance

On July 13, 2025, Fairy Entertainment showcased their talents at the DISABILITY UNITE FESTIVAL 2025. Members ranging from elementary schoolers to young adults performed online from Japan, presenting a colorful array of dance, singing, rapping, beatboxing, and original music, including the 'Fairy Rap' produced by MC PO2PO along with a collaborative work with Clark Memorial International High School. The response from viewers and the event organizers was overwhelmingly positive, with one organizer stating, "Your work is so meaningful and is truly what this festival is all about. We look forward to speaking more about next year's festival."

Planning is already underway for their 2026 performance in New York City, building on the success of this year's event.

Local Support Takes Center Stage

Following the festival, the members visited the mayor of Koda City, Yoko Kobayashi, to express their gratitude and share their experiences. The mayor praised their accomplishments, stating, "I have seen your wonderful performances at city events, and congratulations on this challenge in New York!"

Building a Smiling Community

In Japan, opportunities for leisure, self-expression, and social participation for families with severely disabled children are limited. Fairy Entertainment strives to fill this gap by providing avenues for improving self-esteem, creating welcoming environments, and promoting health through entertainment. This initiative fosters mutual understanding and natural diversity education through collective activities, irrespective of disabilities.

The organization champions a new societal model that combines welfare and entertainment, offering opportunities for entire families to experience joy and grow through inclusive learning and connections.

Looking Ahead: Opportunities for Collaboration

Fairy Entertainment is open to engaging with media for interviews, performance footage, and collaboration with potential partners seeking to promote diversity and welfare through entertaining initiatives. Interested organizations are encouraged to contact them for potential CSR and educational partnerships.
