Rockpoint and Newbond Holdings Acquire Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale

In a significant move within the real estate and hospitality industry, Rockpoint, a prominent private equity firm based in Boston, and Newbond Holdings, an investment platform concentrated on real estate and hospitality, jointly announced their acquisition of the Hotel Maren Fort Lauderdale, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. This acquisition marks a continued collaboration between the firms, building on their previous purchase of the Westin Tampa Waterside in September 2025.

Details of the Acquisition

The Hotel Maren, established in 2021, is a 12-story boutique hotel situated on a picturesque 0.8-acre waterfront site at 525 South Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard, conveniently located just south of the popular Las Olas Boulevard in the Fort Lauderdale Beach submarket. Every one of its 141 thoughtfully designed guestrooms offers either stunning ocean or captivating intracoastal waterway views.

Patrick Ryan, Managing Director at Rockpoint, expressed confidence in the acquisition, stating, "Hotel Maren is a high-quality beachfront property in a compelling submarket with attractive long-term fundamentals. We believe there is a meaningful opportunity to enhance the hotel's existing strengths through targeted improvements to the property and the guest experience."

Neil Luthra, Founding Partner of Newbond Holdings, also shared his insights: "Fort Lauderdale Beach continues to evolve as a destination, and we see tremendous opportunity in this particular stretch south of Las Olas. Hotel Maren is a recently built, oceanfront asset with oversized guestrooms, exceptional water views, and a location that we believe will become increasingly compelling as the surrounding area continues to attract significant investment."

Resort Amenities and Enhancements

Guests of the hotel can look forward to an array of resort amenities designed for relaxation and enjoyment. These include an oceanfront pool and sun deck, various dining and bar options, retail spaces, meeting and social event venues, and a fitness studio. Both Rockpoint and Newbond Holdings have plans to enhance the hotel's food and beverage options and public spaces, aiming to elevate the overall guest experience further.
