Profile of Ryosuke Koda

Ryosuke Koda was born in 2003 in Nagoya, Japan. After graduating from Jiyu Gakuen, he pursued a career in media and child welfare services before joining a non-profit organization aimed at supporting homeless individuals in 2022. Koda’s experience as a consultant and his commitment to regional collaboration and advocacy have been key to his professional journey. In 2023, he co-founded Wakachiai Nerima, where he has served as a Board Member and Secretary-General before assuming his new role as Executive Director.

With two shelters housing a total of six rooms, the organization plans to open the regional welfare activity base “Flat Home Shakujii” in 2024, which will not only facilitate consultations but also host community meal services and food bank activities. Furthermore, in 2026, Wakachiai Nerima intends to launch “Commons Hikawa Dai,” focusing on creating safe spaces for children and young adults and managing share houses and community spaces.
