Nichimo Co. to Participate in Ocean Research Festival 2026

Nichimo Co., headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, is delighted to announce its participation in the annual "Ocean Research Festival 2026," organized by the NPO Green Bird on July 25-26. This year, we will once again support this initiative, following our involvement last year, aimed at raising awareness about ocean environmental issues amongst children.

The festival will take place at WITH HARAJUKU, conveniently located just a minute's walk from Harajuku Station, and is geared primarily towards elementary school students from grades one through six. Nichimo Group aligns with the festival's mission to educate young minds in a fun and engaging way about marine ecology and environmental challenges.

During the event, we will conduct engaging workshops where children will have the opportunity to create their own reusable bags using bio-based and biodegradable fishing nets. This hands-on activity emphasizes the importance of reducing marine environmental impact while fostering creativity and sustainability among kids.

In addition to the workshops, we will also have a dedicated booth offering our latest innovative product: eco-friendly fish keychains made from recycled fishing nets and wood fibers. This initiative addresses the pressing issue of marine plastic waste, reflecting Nichimo's commitment to promoting sustainable practices.
