Midea Energy and CLOU Electronics Unveil Advanced Energy Storage Solutions at Smarter E Europe 2026

The Smarter E Europe 2026 exposition has officially commenced in Munich, Germany, bringing together industry leaders and innovators alike. Among the prominent exhibitors is Midea Energy, collaborating closely with CLOU Electronics to present their advanced energy storage solutions specifically tailored for the European market.

CLOU Electronics seized the opportunity to demonstrate its end-to-end energy storage capabilities at their joint booth with Midea. A highlight of their showcase was the Aqua-C3.0 Ultra solution, which stands out for its remarkable capacity. Packaged in a compact container of over 10 feet, it provides an impressive 5.154 MWh of energy storage with a system weight of under 39 tons. This innovative approach not only optimizes the balance between capacity and physical size but also significantly cuts logistics costs and site space requirements, making it an attractive option for large-scale energy storage needs.

In addition to this, CLOU introduced the Aqua-E261 model, designed for large commercial and residential users in Europe. This model is distinguished by its high safety standards, excellent efficiency, and ease of operation and maintenance. Featuring 314 Ah battery cells with a unit capacity of 261 kWh, it ensures a minimal temperature deviation of 2.5 °C among the cells, thanks to its well-balanced cooling system supporting both the pack and individual cells.

Midea Energy also took center stage at the event, unveiling their integrated energy solution geared towards AI data centers. This holistic approach merges Midea’s strengths in intelligent manufacturing, climate control, and global supply chains with CLOU's expertise in power electronics and energy storage. By integrating multiple components like energy storage systems, high voltage direct current (HVDC) links, solid-state transformers (SST), and battery backup units (BBU), this solution provides a comprehensive energy architecture aimed at next-generation supercomputing centers.

As energy storage technology progresses toward higher capacity cells (500 Ah and above), CLOU acknowledged the importance of managing cell uniformity to mitigate real energy discrepancies. In response, they unveiled a white paper detailing a new CC-CC energy transfer technology at the cell level. This technology facilitates a bidirectional energy management channel between battery cells capable of supporting currents of 5 A, enabling continuous online management of battery cell consistency and potentially increasing recurring revenue by approximately 4% over the lifecycle of the battery system.

The Smarter E Europe 2026 plays a crucial role in Midea Energy's international presence. CLOU, acting as a vital entity in implementing Midea Energy’s global strategy, has successfully executed large-scale energy storage projects across several European nations, including Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and North Macedonia. Their portfolio boasts over 50 energy storage sites across Europe, particularly in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Looking ahead, CLOU aims to leverage Midea Group’s extensive resources and deployment capabilities to establish itself as a long-term partner in bolstering the European energy transition. Together, these companies are setting benchmarks in the energy sector, emphasizing sustainability and efficiency as key drivers of innovation at Smarter E Europe 2026.
