Yamanaka Onsen Kajikaso Celebrates Grand Opening with Ceremony and Festivities

Yamanaka Onsen Kajikaso Grand Opening Ceremony

On August 1, 2025, Solare Hotels and Resorts held a grand opening ceremony for the newly rebranded Yamanaka Onsen Kajikaso. The event was filled with local community members, highlighting the hotel’s commitment to becoming the center for enjoying the Yamanaka Onsen experience.

During the ceremony, hotel owners and management explained the vision behind Kajikaso, and the event was graced by the presence of prominent guests, including Mayor Rikka Miyamoto from Kaga city, who participated in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting. This was a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a new chapter for locals and visitors alike.

A Celebration of Tradition

Following the opening ceremony, a reception party showcased the local traditional art of the “Shocho Yamanaka-bushi,” a traditional performance whose roots trace back approximately 100 years. The Yamanaka Onsen Geigi Association astounded attendees with several performances, encapsulating the rich cultural heritage of the region. Kajikaso aims to become a cherished hotel among locals, providing a variety of services that enhance the Yamanaka Onsen experience for travelers.

Soothing Onsen Experience

Yamanaka Onsen is renowned for its high-quality hot springs, and Kajikaso is no exception. Visitors can relax in an indoor bath featuring quality hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood, alongside a newly installed hinoki sauna. Guests can fully unwind with experiences like an outdoor bath next to the flowing Daishoji River and a stargazing area with reclining chairs.

The onsen and sauna facilities are open late until midnight and from 4 a.m. for early risers, ensuring guests can soak in the therapeutic waters at their convenience.

Relax and Unwind at the Lounge and Playroom

Post-bathing, guests are invited to the “Yuuagari Lounge,” designed with the theme of Zen. The subtle aroma of sandalwood incense and the calming sound of Kyujo Rin create a tranquil environment. Guests can enjoy treats like ice pops, Kaga hojicha, and a selection of herbal teas while reclining on tatami mats or swinging in hammock-like sofas.

The “Playroom” offers various recreational activities, including table tennis, billiards, darts, and unique options like poker and molkky, appealing to guests from children to adults. A library corner filled with comics showcasing the Hokuriku region, works by local authors, and board games ensures ample entertainment for everyone.

An Impressive Lobby Experience

Upon entering Kajikaso, guests are welcomed by the stunning view of the serene Kakenyama Valley from the lobby lounge, a symbolic space of the hotel. The lounge offers complimentary drinks, including local Ishikawa sake, red and white wines, Kaga hojicha, and coffee from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., allowing guests to relax in style.

Comfortable Guest Rooms

All accommodations boast over 35 square meters of space, accompanied by views of the scenic Daishoji River. With a variety of room types—Japanese, Western, and mixed styles—capable of accommodating 4 to 6 guests, there’s something to suit every traveler’s needs. The rate starts at 31,600 yen per room for two guests, which includes breakfast and dinner.

A Culinary Journey with Buffet Dining

Yamanaka Onsen Kajikaso features a buffet for breakfast and dinner, allowing guests to indulge in as much as they desire. The restaurant highlights Ishikawa's premium local ingredients, including Noto beef, Noto pork, fresh seafood from the Japan Sea, and rare Kaga vegetables, offering around 80 dishes to delight guests’ palates.

One of the highlights is the live kitchen, where chefs cook dishes right before guests' eyes, serving items like “teppanyaki sukiyaki” made with succulent beef, paired beautifully with a special egg yolk sauce. The homemade hamburgers made from Noto beef and pork are juicy and can be customized, while breakfast features the innovative “sweet sake/Kaga hojicha French toast”—crispy on the outside and wonderfully fluffy inside. Traditionalists can select rice balls made from Ishikawa’s renowned “Hyakumankan rice,” with a choice of fillings served freshly made.
