On December 4, 2024, Kontakt.io, a frontrunner in healthcare Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) and digital transformation, announced the appointment of Mary Beth Kingston to its Healthcare Advisory Board. Kingston, a seasoned nursing leader with over four decades of experience, is known for her strong advocacy regarding nurse safety and well-being. Her extensive background positions her well to contribute to Kontakt.io’s mission of creating healthcare systems that prioritize caregivers’ safety, visibility, and value.

Kingston previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Advocate Health, where she led nursing operations and strategy. She is well-recognized for her leadership roles, including her tenure on the board of trustees for the American Hospital Association and her chairmanship of the Hospitals Against Violence Advisory Board. Presently, Kingston holds board positions at Providence Saint Joseph's Health and Main Line Health. Her impact on the industry has been acknowledged through her selection as one of Modern Healthcare's 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives for three consecutive years: 2021, 2023, and 2024. In 2020, she was named a fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. Additionally, during her time at Advocate Aurora Health, she served as President of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership in 2019.

In Kingston's own words, "Using technology to improve efficiency, safety, and experience in healthcare requires innovation, collaboration, and a clear understanding of current and future priorities." She highlights that Kontakt.io is effectively partnering with healthcare providers to implement transformative solutions that enhance both the work environment and the overall experience for caregivers and patients. Kingston expresses her enthusiasm about contributing to such impactful initiatives.

In welcoming Kingston, Kontakt.io CEO Philipp von Gilsa stated, "We are delighted to welcome Mary Beth to our Healthcare Advisory Board and tap into her deep understanding of the nursing landscape and needs. Her expertise will be invaluable as we continue to help health systems empower clinicians to deliver quality care in a safer and more productive environment, with the right resources precisely where and when they need them."

As part of its comprehensive Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, Kontakt.io offers a staff safety solution that includes wearable Smart Badges. These badges enable staff to discreetly summon security or assistance by pressing a button, all while allowing for real-time location tracking. The digital application collects and analyzes data over time, identifying trends and risk patterns to make AI-driven predictions that help prevent potential safety incidents. Furthermore, the platform identifies bottlenecks and inefficiencies in clinical workflows, thereby aiding health systems in boosting productivity, retaining nursing staff, and ultimately providing better care.
