Overview of the Event
Tokyo Denki University, under the leadership of President Tadahiko Iwamoto, will host the first CRC Forum of the 2025 fiscal year, titled "Carbon Neutral Power Networks: Road to 2050," on October 8, 2025. This event, designed for industry professionals and students alike, aims to discuss vital technologies and initiatives necessary to achieve carbon neutrality.
What is Carbon Neutrality?
Before diving into the details, it is important to clarify what 'carbon neutrality' entails. Essentially, it involves balancing CO₂ emissions by absorbing or capturing them through methods such as reforestation, which leads to a net-zero emission status. This initiative is critical to combat global warming and foster a sustainable society.
Event Highlights
During the forum, a series of lectures and discussions will revolve around the pivotal role of power networks in supporting carbon neutrality. Notably, Hiroshi Yamaguchi, former chairman of Kandenko Co., which has established a comprehensive industry-academia partnership with the university focused on resilience enhancement, will present a keynote address. He will discuss the restructuring of power systems for future generations.
