Huawei Unveils Four Innovative Optical Solutions for AI-Centric F5.5G Networks

Huawei's Breakthrough in Fully Optical Networks

At the recent Green All-Optical Network Forum held during MWC 25 in Barcelona, Huawei made a significant announcement by unveiling four innovative optical solutions designed for constructing fully optical F5.5G networks centered on artificial intelligence (AI). This ambitious initiative aims to create a win-win scenario for all stakeholders in this emerging intelligent age, as articulated by Kim Jin, Vice President of Huawei's Optical Product Line.

The Rise of AI and Network Modernization

The global AI sector is experiencing rapid growth, driving the commercial use of household broadband with 10 Gbps and fully optical metropolitan networks boasting a 1 ms latency. Huawei’s cutting-edge solutions are equipped to provide operators with end-to-end network implementation tools, vital for enhancing connectivity and user experience.

Optical Access Network

To keep pace with the demands of AI technology, operators must upgrade to 50G PON systems to facilitate widespread 10GE access. Huawei spearheaded this movement last year with the launch of the MA5800T X17, the industry’s first smart OLT solution. Today, they introduce the X15, X8, and X2 models to cater to varying capacity requirements. Each new iteration showcases the highest forwarding capacity in the sector and supports high-density 50G PON installations, empowering operators to develop networks that will future-proof their infrastructure over the next decade. Additionally, the new FAN Intelligent Engine architecture works in tandem with NCE, offering optimized Wi-Fi service among users and on-demand processing power scheduling, ensuring operators can deliver
