The World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, officially opened its doors to the public on April 13th, welcoming an estimated 28 million visitors until October 13, 2025. Among the many countries represented is Slovakia, which has curated a specially designed pavilion under the central theme of "Creating a future society for our lives," with a focus on sustainability. The motto representing Slovakia throughout this remarkable event is "Slovakia – the Heart of Inspiration."

In a notable statement during the opening ceremony, Martin Krnáč, the State Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Slovak Republic, expressed gratitude to the team behind the pavilion for their professional preparation and presentation. During the course of the expo, Slovakia plans to explore various themes that will change every two weeks, covering a wide range of topics including water, wine, health, innovation, regional flavors, learning through play, sports motivation, heritage protection, art, and fashion.

Slovakia’s National Day is scheduled for September 10th, where special celebrations will highlight the country's unique offerings. Michaela Kovačičová, the chief commissioner for Slovakia's participation at EXPO 2025, emphasized that the goal is to showcase Slovakia as an attractive destination. "We aim to inspire curiosity among the expo visitors and highlight the unique character of our country. Our motto, 'Slovakia – the Heart of Inspiration,' reflects this intent," she shared.

The World Expo serves as an excellent platform for enhancing international cooperation, particularly in the realm of tourism, which is a key pillar of the Slovak economy. "This expo presents a huge potential to boost incoming tourism, welcoming visitors not just from Asia but from around the globe.
