Taiwan Launches Asian Asset Management Center
Taiwan has taken a significant step in positioning itself as a pivotal player in the global asset management arena with the inauguration of the Asian Asset Management Center (AAMC) Promotion Office. The official kickoff took place on September 1, 2025, and it included the unveiling of a comprehensive website aimed at enhancing accessibility for global investors.
The establishment of the AAMC Promotion Office, facilitated by the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and overseen by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), serves as a centralized point of contact for international firms looking to navigate Taiwan’s financial markets. This initiative underscores Taiwan’s commitment to attracting foreign capital while providing extensive consultation services that encompass regulatory compliance, licensing, and operational queries.
The launch ceremony witnessed the participation of high-ranking officials including FSC Vice Chairperson Chen Yen-Liang, alongside representatives from local government and various financial institutions. Their presence highlighted a collaborative effort across different sectors to enhance Taiwan's financial internationalization.
Since the inception of this initiative in September 2024, the FSC has rolled out an impressive 36 regulatory reforms, surpassing its 2025 goals ahead of schedule. This rapid implementation is pivotal as it positions Taiwan as a strategic gateway for global asset managers entering Asian markets. “These reforms are crucial for reinforcing our financial environment, enhancing investor confidence, and fostering a more competitive asset management sector,” stated Vice Chairperson Chen.
In the meantime, Taiwan's asset management sector has experienced remarkable growth, with assets under management rising by almost NT$3 trillion year-on-year. The recent launch of the Kaohsiung Zone of the AAMC has already attracted a diverse array of financial institutions, from banks and investment firms to global accounting entities, reflecting a burgeoning market confidence.
In line with this initiative, the TWSE also revealed a newly designed AAMC website (https://www.aamc.tw). This platform serves as a centralized hub for updates from regulatory bodies, industry associations, and affiliated agencies, offering a wealth of information including policy updates, market insights, and specialized consultation services tailored to both institutional investors and the general public.
According to TWSE Chairman and CEO Sherman Lin, Taiwan boasts a strong combination of private savings, a resilient financial system, and dynamic synergy with its thriving tech sector. This positions the nation favorably in the global asset management landscape. “The Promotion Office is set to play a pivotal role in transforming policy framework into actionable practices, thus unlocking fresh growth opportunities,” noted Lin.
The AAMC Promotion Office has introduced immediate consultation services designed to assist businesses in establishing operations within Taiwan. Interested firms can access these services through a dedicated toll-free hotline (+886-800-88-66-99), an online inquiry portal (https://act.twse.com.tw/Q202507155/), and scheduled consultations, provided either in person or via video conferencing. These offerings aim to guide businesses through the regulatory landscape, licensing protocols, and operational prerequisites.
In summary, the launch of the AAMC Promotion Office marks an essential milestone on Taiwan's path to solidifying its influence in the global financial sector. Both Vice Chairperson Chen and Chairman Lin reiterated that this initiative embodies a long-term collaborative effort with global ambitions. As Taiwan strengthens its investment environment, it stands ready to welcome international capital and foster a vibrant asset management hub in Asia.
