On June 1, 2025, Southern First Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: SFST), which serves as the holding company for Southern First Bank, announced the addition of three distinguished individuals to its Board of Directors: Jennie Cluverius, Darrin Goss, and Billy McClatchey. These new directors bring an impressive array of experience and expertise that is expected to benefit the bank significantly.
Jennie Cluverius
Jennie Cluverius is a seasoned trial lawyer with a wealth of knowledge in employment and labor issues. As a Shareholder at Maynard Nexsen, PC, she plays a pivotal role in advising employers on various business matters. Her leadership extends to chairing the Labor and Employment Practice Group at her firm and serving on its Board of Directors. As a South Carolina Supreme Court Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law, Jennie's credentials are formidable; she holds a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Originally from Spartanburg, SC, Jennie now resides in Greenville, SC.
Darrin Goss
Darrin Goss has been at the helm of the Coastal Community Foundation in Charleston, SC, since 2016, leading various community initiatives. His previous experiences include serving as President and CEO of the Capital Area United Way in Baton Rouge and taking roles with the United Way of Greenville County and Wofford College. A U.S. Army veteran, Darrin holds a bachelor’s degree from Wofford College and a master’s degree from North Greenville University. His diverse background in nonprofit management and community development will be invaluable to the Board.
Billy McClatchey
Billy McClatchey is currently the CEO of Chaucer Creek Capital in Raleigh, NC, where he specializes in the Southeastern multifamily market. Previously, he founded McClatchey Broadcasting Company, which operated radio stations across the Carolinas. His extensive history in real estate and experience in mergers and acquisitions offer a unique perspective to the Board. Billy earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina, equipping him with the analytical skills necessary for strategic decision-making.
